The light captured here and in your example are amazing, to the extent that you have to wonder if the artist went all out on those details and then just was too tired or something to finish the backgrounds. I’m sure there’s an element of trying to keep them simple, so as to not distract from the main focus areas, but yeah, it’s pretty distracting still.
