I read the disqus comments and still am not sure I get what is going on here. I thought maybe it had something to do with that nursery rhyme, but that doesn’t seem to work. The one explanation in the comments seems to require more intimate knowledge of another comic, which I do not 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, it seems if these two could combine houses, they would each have a better overall quality of shoe!

It’s been a long time since I used Ubuntu, but at the time I did I recall running into issues keeping too many old kernels. They were stored in a fixed space folder (or maybe partition?) that was like 100MB and sometimes wouldn’t clear out automatically, so I remember this. May not be relevant now, but if it is, space in the storage folder is the limiting factor so you would need to change that. If it IS a partition, then you would need to deal with all that is involved with that.

edited to add that my current OS only stores three or four as well. I have never really dived into it.

Would this not just be suicide? Linguistically, this would be “you,” but “you” would be “me.” It’s even weirder than talking about oneself in third person… IMO.

That could be. I tried the user agent switcheroo but then got stuck in a Cloudfare loop. While it worked for me in Firefox, I haven’t really fiddled much with the settings in it so it probably didn’t offer much protection and I didn’t do a private window. I think the best answer, for me, is to keep things like this partitioned off from some main browsing session. Not my area of expertise!

It blocked me with Librewolf, but works in Firefox. Seems weird.

Once I was able to pull it up, pretty neat interface! Lot’s of pictures of local places I don’t usually see. I will have some fun with this!

It’s true that annular may not be as exciting as total, but still pretty neat. If either one ever happens close enough for you to see I hope you can make it! Totally worth it.

This is very awesome! I imagine most of us who floated over a couple years ago have figured out ways of making this happen, but what a huge obstacle for newcomers. Huge news!!!

I don’t know about now, but “back in the day” I went to work with my Dad for one of these and vomited on his cubicle neighbor’s keyboard. Good times.

Does this have maps of it’s own?

I use this, it’s pretty great! Not really a replacement for the stock app, but I use a non-stock OS so it doesn’t matter to me. It is more like messaging before GIFs and whatnot, but not hard to figure those things out if you want them.

Ya, it works! But it is very much like a phone interface on the computer. Maybe not perfect but it exists.

Instead of the enhance meme, change it to destabilize.

This is so cool. Hercules were always my favorite insect even though I now live in a place they do not. If this is true to form, it looks like a cross between the annual forms in and the periodical forms I have experienced in different places in the eastern US, or between the periodical eastern and annual western US. None were gold, though 🙂️

As a stop gap to what @wjs018@piefed.wjs018.xyz mentioned, are you able to use the :hide read posts" option? I haven’t used that, I am not sure how it works, but I think at least then you wouldn’t see it. I guess you wouldn’t see other posts to follow up on then.

Is there a good chance new ownership will be better? I cannot imagine them being worse off than being with Nestle, but the one unionized place I worked for that changed hands (a long time ago) certainly went through some challenges with the new owners. I hope it works out great for them!
