Still waiting for an example of a single law. I’m sure you’ll find it eventually.

Sadly. I disagree. I think the issue is that people view history as a collection of sudden moments. Mostly because of how history is taught that way. But the reality of living through them is much different.
The dam does not break. There is no dam. The sea level slowly rises and consumes the shoreline. Those on the edge are the first to go to the streets and demand justice. But most people will not be effected enough to be forced into action.

Only if the American people keep having this same reaction and don’t realize that a government run by and for the rich pedophiles will only ever operate this way. It’s meant to give you just enough, not to make you think something is being done, but to cynically remain passive and going to your job.
New war, country run by pedophiles, genocide reaching it’s final solution, neighbors being rounded up and disappeared, nothing is affordable, your boss is an app, and the phone you’re reading this from you don’t even own, it’s on a buy now pay later plan.
Like, I think history will have a hard time explaining the doomerism and passive inaction of Americans during this time. Usually populations that remain so inactive to their own oppression are driven by some material benefit over others or at least a false narrative of one. But Americans are just literally eating shit and going “damn, guess we’ll have to hope the shit eating machine lets us vote for a reduced rate of shit in 2026”.
Heads are usually rolling at this point of ruling class oppression.
Can you be more specific? I read the PDF you linked but found no mention of any of these laws. I don’t hate men. I’m literally a man. Also, I’m not trying to find something to hate men. Quite the opposite. I’m just asking you to help me find the law you are talking about. Is that so bad? Like, I read an entire PDF you linked to “prove your point” and it doesn’t have anything related to what you’re trying to talk about. Did you read it?
Is a life-saving emergency vasectomy a thing? I feel like this whole comment section is just incapable of understanding the degree of the law being discussed and the impact on an individuals life.
Like, it would be unfair if in California men were not allowed to jwalk but women were. Kind of odd. But, like, what the fuck are we even talking about if we’re comparing that to something on the level of a often life saving medical procedure?
I’m autistic. But this comment section is making me feel neuro-typical for how incredibly hyperfocused it is on trying to act like the OOP is “technically wrong”. And the best example I can find talking about cis men is your comment. I gotta be missing something. Are people really saying there is some law comparable to anti abortion laws that target cis men? I really hope it’s not a 30 day waiting period for a vasectomy when the same thing probably applies for non medically necessary hysterectomys as well. Seriously, did you even look up the laws on hysterectomys in the the same state? Because that’s a much more risky procedure that likely has even more restrictions.
Can you point to a specific law targeting men that is based on their body anatomy? Not men that are targeted for race, gender vs. sex identity, or sexual orientation.
Literally, just asking for one specific law comparable to anti abortion laws. Thanks.
There is no section in the PDF you linked talking about laws that restrict the rights of cis based on them being cis men. Trans men, yes, but I don’t think that’s the context of what the original post was talking about. Maybe I missed it though.
Or is this all a misunderstanding of the OOP not considering trans men? I’m confused.
The comment that was using this as justification isn’t talking about trans men. Its just arguing in bad faith.
I think they’re being a “technically Andy” and saying that different states have different laws for everyone.
The original post is clearly talking about laws that apply specifically to those assigned female at birth. So the comment your replying to is just purposely ignoring that. It happens all the time to liberals that are more concerned with being “correct” than actually just.
Now, trans men’s rights DEFINITELY vary state to state. But I highly doubt that’s what they were talking about.
The only other possible thing I could think of would be how divorce and child support is handled state by state (which is just another thing pushed by the right wing politicians). Maybe some obscure differences between access to TRT? But, again, it’s just a comment that is giving no context to the original post and then just ignoring the fact that there is no law towards men, and their rights to their bodies, that is anywhere near what abortion laws control. (Again, excluding trans men. But if the comment you replied to cared about that they would have mentioned it.)
Clearly the original post isn’t debating about how it’s unfair that in Kentucky the passengers in cars can drink alcohol but in other states they can’t. It’s not a law about gender/sex. The top comment in this thread is just critizing the original post in bad faith for no real reason but being “technically correct”. And for some reason it’s being up voted without mentioning literally any law comparable on the level of anti abortion laws.
I’m welcome to be proven wrong. But, seriously, there is a reason they didn’t mention a specific law targeting men in certain states.

Yeah. But that answers the question you posted about how they will know if you have social media or not. That was my point. Not whether you literally watched it or not.

Did you not see the group of tech billionaires behind Trump when he was sworn in?

Is this 30% down in foreign tourist (like people crossing border with the intention of a tourist visit) or 30% down in tourist industry revenue?
If it’s revenue that’s huge. Because a lot of tourism is just Americans going to tourist destinations. Though I’m sure some of that drop is coming from Americans also not being able to afford vacations.
If it’s 30% down of actual foreign tourist travel that’s less than I’d expect too. But still beyond devastating to the tourist industry. Between that and the explosion of online gambling, I know Vegas is hurting so much right now.

I feel like numbers at this point just are pointless. It’s like, can we use vocabulary that actually describes the situation instead of updating this every time the decimal point shifts?
Describing it in terms of wealth is kind of dumb. It gives the idea that the systems that caused this (Imperialism, colonialism, capitalism) are the solution. Like, the global South just needs “investment”. The numbers are this bad because of a century of western “investment” in its exploitation the global South.
There isn’t a number attached to this that somehow fixes the problem when we reach it. This is about what essentially amounts to slavery and subjugation of the majority of this planet. The language of these news articles is so passive. Like it’s describing the amount of stars in the galaxy.
And, uh, kill all of the innocent people on board. Sorry, I just feel like that should be said.
I’m a leftist. If capitalism was destroyed I would love to debate and implement different economic and state systems as we work to improve the lives of all people.
But, having said that, we don’t live in a world without capitalism yet. So I will support any form of resistance of a people to Imperialist powers and capitalist interest. Unfortunately, we can’t put on a red hat and just support the guys with the red hats. It’s why I can support certain actions of groups and states ranging from Hamas to DPRK to even parts of the EU (but never never NATO).
This is why when there is “leftist infighting” I will almost always support the ML faction over any DemSocs or anarchist. Why? Because ML methods of resistance have been the only successful methods of resisting imperial occupation and influence that has been sustainable. If an anarchist faction destroys the state and is somehow able to defend itself from imperialist powers I’ll support that too. But we have Cuba today; we have the DPRK today. Are they the types of states I want to exist? No. But they do exist.
If another means of imperial resistance proves more effective than I will adjust my opinions and support. If your a leftist and not acknowledging the success of ML factions you’re not really a leftist. Especially if you spend all your time fighting with “tankies”. And if you’re a ML and not willing to adjust to changes in successful resistance (especially as the empire is shaking as it is now) than you’re not really a leftist but in a cult.
Me when my wife asks if I ate anything today.
At night when everyone else goes to sleep; fighting sleep because it’s the only time to relax, but knowing you’ll have a horrible day again tomorrow because you won’t get enough sleep but also be awake for 2 hours after finally laying down in bed trying to not fuck it up again tomorrow?

As someone that grew up with an “unmonitored” internet. I can say that it was significantly more healthy than the profit driven “keep watching” algorithm that is all of social media today.
Yeah. I saw “two girls one cup” and “lemon party”. But, did I slowly have my perspective of reality changed by the 30 second videos I swiped on for hours at a time for days on end?
No, most of my time was spent learning about computers, “stealing” music, and chatting with my real life friends.
I don’t think a kid today can experience that internet anymore. It’s gone. But acting like “unmonitored” internet access is worse is pearl clutching and ignoring the fundamental problems the profit driven internet has created at the expense of societies mental health.
Kids will absolutely find another place to connect online in Australia. But, honestly, I think whatever that is will be healthier than the absolute brain rot that is profit driven social media.
We got to this point because parents think that kids need a monitored internet. Afraid of online predators. So it was passed off to corporations that learned how to systematically institute mental abuse in order to keep their apps open longer.

It’s a bandaid. And just like previous attempts like this all this will do is make Australian kids better at circumventing the censorship or using an alternative website. Which, honestly, is probably a positive in and of itself. I’d much rather my kid be visiting some random forum type website (like I grew up with) then the absolute brain rot that is social media algorithms.
Seeing “lemon party” posted before the mods removed it definitely fucked me up less than the slop being fed into the brains of teenagers on social media today.
Hoping this is sarcasm mocking this kind of take.
Everyone deserves healthcare. This is like the “I’m calling ICE on my neighbors that I know have undocumented family members because one of them voted for Trump”. It’s just treating politics as a team sport for entertainment; and not actually caring about it because you want positive change for the world you live in.
