Their leader became such a loose cannon that details of his whereabouts were supposedly supplied by Loyalist paramilitaries to the IRA so they could take him out, which was pretty crazy since they were opposing sides in the conflict.

Robert Pickton, who liked pig-farm based body disposal and was allowed to be active for a ridiculously long time.
Elizabeth Wettlaufer, who liked to inject her nursing home residents with things.

Yeah, it’s not confirmed he actually pulled a Sweeney Todd, but there’s a possibility. People who were in the area at the time don’t even like think about it. The good news is that human meat isn’t very visually like pork, and just feeding bodies to the pigs would have been easier.
Oh yah, it totally isn’t proven, but from all I’ve researched I think it’s pretty likely. I also don’t like to think about that… He definitely fed a bunch of poor girls to pigs, for sure. Wettlaufer had confessed to killing patients several times prior to her confession at CAMH, including to a lawyer who advised her to keep it a secret, and was not reported to police.
This is something of a pattern that I’ve seen over the years where people know that someone is a killer or serial killer and … Then continue to do nothing about it, didn’t see anything, etc. these people weren’t threatened, they weren’t in danger, they could simply notify the police, yet didn’t

For the lawyer, it’s their job to advise clients, which means there has to be some privilege or the whole thing is a farce. For the others, I’m not sure. Did they mistake it for a joke, or something? Like in a certain famous film.
The lady who saw Pickton butchering a human body decided to blackmail him instead. So, probably for money, there.
Homolka only got like 12 fucking years for recording the rapes and in at least one case actually sexually assaulting, drugging and murdering several teenage girls. That’s beyond fucked. She’s just out there living freely now, with her children. What the fuck.
It’s the price of getting a guaranteed conviction, I guess.

country is pretty vague. I’ll answer in my “somewhere where I pass once a month or so” answer.
There was a hair stylist place about ~20-30m from us where my mom actually went once. In-between my parents old school and where we live now. I forgot the full story but the TLDR is that an employee got fired then went insane and murdered her boss in the stylist place then cleaned it so well nobody thought it happened there, but when they turned on a black light there was blood everywhere. I think there was something about sawing a head off too?
I’m missing a TON of details because I was about 10 when it happened, but for me it was creepy AF considering how there’s a chance my mom saw the person.
