Grandma: “You can take this to the living room and watch Nickelodeon on the big TV.”
…man… it’s been such a long time since she passed, but i can still picture her standing next to the kitchen door saying that, clear as day.
To any Zoomers reading this, cherish your elders. They love you and did their best. Don’t let the last thing you said to them be something a shitty teenager would say.
Also thanks for making me cry, thats the third day this week…

Exactly, upside down perspective. Can’t just flip an image and assume it’ll be fine.
Mmm I love lead poisoning
The perspective is fucking with my head, it looks like the plate is tilted back but the sandwich is tilted forward
Came here to say the same thing. I zoomed in to figure it out, saw the faint skull in the upper left and hoped out.
That is 100% a cursed image. Lures you in with grilled cheese from your sweet Nana, makes you look closer to figure out the perspective, then throws a bunch of creepy shit your way when your guard is down. There is probably some weird writing in the bread texture, or pentagrams in the yellow decoration or shit like that, but I’m not brave enough to keep looking.
Do not call my nice corningware plates Granny oh god
That granny plate probably uses lead and heavy metals in its decorative elements.
If you threw it in the microwave, would it spark?
Generally curious if it does anything or if the traces would be too small
nope! the decoration isn’t pure metal (in the case of leaded paint, gold and silver may be different), but metal salts and oxides, which are not conductive and much more colorful then some dull grey metal
I have that same exact plate and it doesn’t spark.
I had a Christmas plate made of glass that I couldn’t microwave as it would ar(c?)k around the edges where there was “gold” embroidery decoration
Still use those to this day whenever I visit my folks back at home. That and for some reason unknown, we have the old red Pizza Hut glasses when you would dine in.
I remember fine in Pizza Hut restaurants. They were the best. My cousin worked at the one closest to us and we would get discounts all the time :)
the happy time struggle meal
