Looking for recommendations of games you think translate well to a Let’s Play.

Here’s a few I’ve watched as some examples:

  • Dispatch
  • Dead Space: Remake
  • Dave the Diver
  • Outer Wilds
  • Claire Obscur: Expedition 33
  • Black Myth: Wukong

Some games I want to play for myself, but others I’d rather just watch. Either I don’t want to buy it, or maybe the game mechanics don’t interest me but the story does. (Dispatch falls under that category.)

Any other ideas?

    Pacific Drive?

It’s a great game with a great story ( that I kinda rushed through because I couldn’t enjoy the constant tension - instead the couple playthroughs I watched were very enjoyable )

Hmm, maybe. I’ve seen Vinesauce Vinny’s rimworld LPs at they’re kinda fun, but I think playing it yourself’s a lot less frustrating.

I’m currently watching videos of “The Last Caretaker”. Still in development / public beta, but nicely done.

In the line of cinematic games, maybe Journey also?
Maybe Songs for a Hero too, but do mind it has two dubbings (Portuguese and English) and they sound different from each other.

Lil’ Indigestion has a great blind playthrough of Outer Wilds. I would also recommend About Oliver’s Outer Wilds series as well. They also have great playthroughs of Subnautica.

There’s quite a fanbase for “No, I’m not a Human”. It’s a post apocalyptic horror game. It’s perfect to watch cause of the multiple endings and very simple gameplay.

I like watching people play Super Mario World romhacks. Grand Poo World is big and the streamer who made it (barbarousking) is entertaining

If you like variety gaming yt you can check out youtubers like

Satiire, who tries to platinum random ps games,

Kong, that showcases strange (mostly bad) games,

Kedvuit, who’s got a great spirit and loves to showcase strange shovelware,

planet clue, which is also cool but I can’t easily categorize just yet,

Noah Caldwell-Gervais, if you want very intricate scripts and commentary

Open Clubs, who has the “Worst platformer ever” series,

    Super bunny hop

It’s jabo and joov do fallout/skyrim content

    Shagrots cave is pvc2 challenges.

    Basement brothers does oldschool rpgs.

For “I just want let’s play games” I recommend checking out speedrunning marathons.

I think Research Indicates’ Jurassic Park: Trespasser let’s play from 2008 is still the greatest let’s play of all time. It was from the early days of high effort LPs on Something Awful, and while Trespasser is a very interesting game for multiple reasons, it’s also an unfinished mess that is better watched than played (if you could even get it to work).

I think the Quantic Dream games (Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, etc.) work well to watch since there isn’t much to miss out in the gameplay, mostly just walking, talking, and QTEs. The writing varies wildly in quality, so it’s often a MST3K-like experience with the game being mocked (at least ones I’ve watched), just depends whose playthrough you’re watching.

Thoroughly enjoyed a supercut of Jerma’s elden ring playthrough

That was some top tier second screen content
