The rules are pretty much anything (within reason) goes, but at least one person is fed up with seeing news and politics on shitpost, so is protesting by posting corn shitposts. Some others are joining in, a couple are posting more news out of spite.
Ah. I thought this corn thing was pretty stupid and annoying. But now I am in support of it.
I didn’t realize that was the reason. I thought it was something stupid like the bean thing, a holdover from Reddit. I shall start upvoting corn memes because I too am sick of political posts.
I was assuming that in another month or 2, wed see squashposts, thus completing the 3 sisters triad of plants.

From what I’ve seen, corn is being used as a placeholder for porn because they rhyme.
If you mean something else… maybe give us more to go on. Without anything to go on… that’s all I got. I haven’t heard any others. Except, of course, puns like you see in the comments, but I think that’s just based on you saying corn and them not having anything to go on, so they make puns. I’m not very good at them, and I feel like the best one (amaizing, for maize) has already been taken, so I’m not going to repeat or rework it.

not an explanation but since we are talking about the greatness of corn, let me share this little fact: according to mesoamerican civilization (or, at leas the Mayas’ genesis) humans were made out of corn :)
