I hate nuts. I’m not allergic to them.
Everything about them is wrong, I’ve never had food that contained nuts that wouldn’t have been significantly better without them.
Chocolate with nuts - What was wrong with just the former
Nuts on their own - Might as well eat wood
Nutbars - gross.
Food with nuts is just bad, and the sooner we move on from this dated cultural institution the better.
This was inspired by the last two posts
Yep, they kinda taste woody. What’s wrong with eating wood tho? Trust me, if I could actually draw nutrition from wood, I would xD
But also, nuts have hella different texture. Only nut I hate is pistachio as of now, didn’t taste them all after all.
Same I got that beaver in me 😶
‘Might as well eat wood.’
I wish wood tasted that good.
It does if you smoke things with it.
Love them. I don’t find them woody tasting. My daughter’s girlfriend is allergic to nuts so I don’t cook with them much now (they are living here) and I miss them.
I don’t usually just want a handful but they make food better not worse.
Walnuts or pecans, such a pleasant texture in cinnamon rolls or banana bread, cookies.
Almonds are delicious with green beans.
Cashew butter makes better cream of mushroom soup than cream does, and I say this as a lover of cream, milk, cheese.
They are high in calories and nutrition for something that grows on a tree, too.
But what about honey roasted nuts? So good 😋
Or spiced nuts
But…baklava…
Upvoted because I’m jealous. I can’t have nuts in the house because twin is allergic to tree nuts and I love her just enough to remove all them from the house so I can’t cross contaminant anything accidentally. Would be easier if I hated them but boy I miss walnuts.
Interesting that only one of you has allergies. When did you realize?
I was the healthier baby and now the ‘healthier’ adult. Er, my immune system was better at least. I an not healthy lol.
Twin always reacted much stronger to the cats than I did so they got a full workup as a kid. The tree nuts started at pine nuts but expanded over the years.
Why don’t you get rid of the twin?
Cause quite often I love my twin! Sometimes I’d like to throw them into low earth orbit but not over the nuts!
No one would blame you if you drive them into a beautiful wooded area and let them free then go and buy nuts though.
Mother has said I can only murder twin over lack of them doing chores, not over allergies!
Bro, you’re nuts.
Your nuts?
Our nuts, flapping in the wind.
Our nuts, comrade

FOR THE MOTHERLAND!!
Biblically accurate tanuki
That is one hell of an image
One of the elders becomes senile and starts a Buddhist dancing cult among the tanuki who are unable to transform, eventually sailing away with them in a ship that takes them to their deaths.
Yeah, it sounds like an interesting one. Kind of fern gully-ish.

So I tried to think of the top three things that I really enjoy with nuts in them:
- Ice cream with hardening chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts sprinkled on top (sooo good)
- Almond Roca (toffee plus chocolate plus nuts)
- Whitefish with almonds on top. (I know I’m not describing this very well, but I’ve had several fish with nuts on top that have been truly outstanding.)
I bet you like deez nuts tho.
Overall I disagree (so upvoted), but I do have to agree that chocolate is generally better without nuts in it.
My ex-monster-in-law used to make this candy that was amazing. Simply chocolate coated peanuts but the critical ingredient was salted cocktail peanuts. They had the perfect salt and texture to perfectly complement the chocolate!
I will require some of these for testing
Unfortunately my source is no longer available to me
Pesto sauce is pretty great.
When I saw that post about fruits and chocolate, I immediately thought about chocolate bars that have nuts in them. Brilliant combination IMO, but apparently that’s a reasonably popular opinion.
Anyway, if you were the emperor of the world and you found the person who invented nut chocolate, what would be their punishment?
hard disagree, i need the cruch
agree but they’re good with chocolate
