I never understood how you even connect the two sides from the beginning, with these suspension bridges. Somebody really strong just throw a rock tied to a string to the other side to start with? Bow and arrow? 😅 How does it work?

Some of these suspension bridges are just sooo high up though. But yeah, that could work for a lot of places I suppose.

I’ve seen modified shotguns firing a grappling hook to the other side of a canyon. No lie.

Couldn’t find that video, but rescue guys demo their shotgun method here. They only get a max 200’, but the bridge builders were getting a lot farther.

And yes, I’ve tried both a broken brick on a string and a recurve bow to get a line 24’ across my little swamp pond. :) Just just need one, thin string to get started.

lol awesome. So yeah, I guess that’s what I imagine in modern times. But sometimes you’ll see stuff like “this bridge is 800 years old” and it’s like way up in the mountains over this wide canyon. I’m like, cannot compute 🤖
