In an explosive interview about his medical treatments, Trump also admitted that he applies makeup to his hands, saying that the large daily dose of aspirin he takes to thin his blood causes them to bruise easily.

He visited Walter Reed Hospital in mid-July after suffering “mild swelling in his lower legs,” and an ultrasound showed he has “chronic venous insufficiency,” a common ailment in older people that makes it more difficult for the blood to travel to the heart from the legs through smaller veins.

You and the other commenter are hung up on the socks but what about the makeup? The year-old bruise?

I guess that aspirin is probably the cause, and at this age I think it’s quite usual to take blood flow meds, no? (not that I know why)

The news isn’t that he’s an old guy with old guy problems, the news is that this is the first time he’s admitted what he’s been vehemently denying for literally years is true

I’d say it’s especially noteworthy because of the severity of the 180. He was on the attack when people brought up his health and this interview he’s extremely casual about it

He’s old, old people bruise easily. He’s also incredibly vain, hence the atrocious hair and orange skin. I’m not sure why anyone is shocked that he would wear make up on his hands to cover bruising. Could it be from IVs, could it be from blood thinners, could it be from being clumsy? All are possible and he would use make up for any of them.

Could there be more going on with his health? Yes. But the story doesn’t tell you anything more than what is going on with most people who are 80 years old.

The news isn’t that he’s experiencing age-related health problems. It’s that he’s admitting it so freely.

He finally stopped lying about one thing, I’m not saying that this isn’t potentially newsworthy, what I’m saying is that this is not an important news story, it’s not a “shocking” revelation that the article claims.

If he finally stopped lying about it, to me, it means there really must be nothing there.
