There never was shame, but new is accepting someone else’s peace prize, his old persona would have realized that just made him look like more of an asshole.

He’s at the end of his faculties and the party is propping him up, also leading him to betray his legacy, such as it was, with America First that he created, making a mockery out of it and ostracizing it’s adherents, his previously most loyal contingent that followed him not the party.
