Went hiking with temps in the 20s last weekend. Saw some elk. 10/10 would recommend.

Last week we had a number of days it was in the twenties. I take my dog hiking every morning become breakfast. We go out on mostly unused trails so she can be off leash, because of that I do not see much wildlife. Bit I did see a Bald Eagle trying to catch breakfast this morning.

As an adult I loved winter still. I could be outside, do stuff without suffering heart stroke, and I loved running in the snow with my trail running shoes for 13+ miles.

I now live in the southwest and man so I miss winter.

Yes I love winter and I love being outside during winter, I imagine I would have a whole other perspective if I couldn’t afford to heat my home.

People be like, “I love pizza,” after having a couple of slices for dinner. No. Eat 10 pizzas. Let’s see.

What’s wrong with loving putting on snuggly warm clothing in winter? Not to mention that I love both warm inside and cold outside in winter.

When I was a child, I loved snow. The adults told me that when I had to start shoveling the walkway and driveway, my love would fade. It did not.

Then I was told that when I learned to drive, I would hate it. First snowstorm after I got my license, I instantly headed out to an empty parking lot to practice donuts. I’ve been caught in sudden storms and watched other cars slide off the road. I still love snow.

Then I was told that when I got a job and had to support a family that I’d hate snow. Yet this has come to pass, and I still squee like a child when snow starts. I long to take walks in it. I dream of sledding, or building snowmen, or throwing snowballs, even in my middle age, even if I can no longer run as I used to.

No, you will never take my love of winter from me. Summer heat, get thee behind me.

I hate driving in the snow and rain, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the weather.

I just got home from being outside for hockey in 1 degree F weather and I LOVED it. I’m happy outside to about -9. I get so invigorated.

I love winter so much I pollute as much as I can to speed run though global warming and reach the inevitible ice age after.

At least winter is comfortable inside. Summers get so warm now that there’s often no escape from the heat. Where I live AC used to be completely unnecessary so rental apartments with AC basically don’t exist.

And as someone with a delayed circadian rhythm I also hate daylight saving time. I don’t want to get up an hour earlier every day. Why do morning people get to force their lifestyle on us?

You can only be cozy in the cold weather, plus you can wear a coat if it’s cold but you can’t wear an anti-coat if it’s hot. When I was too young to fully understand seasons I used to have nightmares about it suddenly becoming summer because it’s just such an awful time of year

This is a large part of the winter appeal for me. Dressing for winter is easier then for very hot weather. Although I do use a wide brimmed hat for heat now, it’s like a tiny free cooler!

I still get panicked about summer, or even the thought of tolerating that hell of a season. Mainly it’s because it has been a pain in the ASS to keep my house comfortably cold or to even have and maintain an air conditioner. It’s expensive, and if the heat gets over a certain threshold, swamp coolers and air conditioners become ineffective at a certain point. It’s legitimately scary. I don’t want to boil alive or die of heat stroke. One power outage in the summertime could mean you’re completely fucked. I wish more people treated summer and climate change as more of a threat to life.

you can’t wear an anti-coat if it’s hot.

There are all kinds of active and passive cooling suits.

If you find an army-looking one, you can be truly tacticool.

I just got in from shoveling round one.

I’m thankful that it’s cold when it snows, I love sledding with the kids.

But now that there was snow and snowmen and snowball fights, can it please be fucking summer now?
