… that is essentially what ICE is. A bunch of racists with guns who want to shoot people.

Guess what? They don’t shoot the people you want them to.

And a state run militia is literally a civil war and will result in the army getting called in to put them down. And you can bet the brave men and women of the us armed forces will have no problem murdering and raping people without the 12 hour flight to get there.

Orgs like The Black Panthers have always walked a very fine line. Yes, they are technically a terrorist organization by most (modern) definitions of the term. But they ALSO put way more effort into winning over The People than anything else so the only way to really root them out is for the government to get their Tulsa on.

And considering basically the entire news media is complicit with the christofacists at this point… it won’t take much to turn public opinion and decide that “Yeah. Chicago really IS a lawless land that is worse than Ghaza and everyone there needs to be rescued. Send in the marines”

They are shooting exactly the people Trump and Bondi want them to.

So… spend months getting a system in place to evaluate potential militia members and a year training them so that they are less likely to kill each other every time they reach for the gun they left in the backseat.

Yeah, I am sure trump and the christofacists will wait for that. “Give us a year and we’ll put a stop to you! Okay, maybe two”.

Also, that is still a state run militia and it still becomes a civil war.

What other choice do we have at this point? Fight back or just comply and die anyway ? That’s not freedom

That is a different question. There are plenty of things that can, and can’t be done to fight back. And… maybe those are the kinds of conversations to have with local community organizers rather than strangers on social media?

But just because you want to do something doesn’t mean what you want to do is at all a good idea or will serve any purpose. And understanding those shortcomings is the difference between resistance and roleplaying.

I strongly disagree and I think state backed militias should be formed. I also find your tone very condescending

Exactly. If Governors/state legislatures authorize use of force in one way or another to stand up to them we might actually see some effective resistance.

I am sick of these “so do something” comments when everybody knows that if you aren’t executed by ice you will be arrested by your local PD, prosecuted and likely go to jail. Basically asking people to throw their life away to maybe take out a couple of immigration officers out of like 20k. That’s not resistance, that’s stupidity.

Agreed. Forming second amendment militias is literally a right we have and we better get to it. The presence might bring decorum, organization and and accountability to this terrorist group rampaging through our streets.

There’s a huge contradiction here when you say that the black panthers who feed and clothe people in their communities and call for positive change that benefits everyone are a terrorist organization and white nationalists organizations go unscrutinized year after year until they are running around the streets shooting people execution style with state backing…words matter and that sounds like government koolaid to me

The Black Panthers (in their various incarnations) are an armed organization that actively uses the threat of gun violence to keep The Enemy at bay. That is literally a terrorist organization.

Does that mean they don’t do good? Of course not. Just like plenty of organized crime groups have historically been the only people looking out for the community.

But it is very much a balancing act to control public opinion so that people support and defend their local gunmen rather than turn them in so that they can stop living in terror. The Troubles in Ireland are a “great” example of how rapidly this can shift once a cold war goes hot, as it were.

So no. This is only a “contradiction” if you don’t understand that words have meaning and that meaning isn’t based on how happy you are.

You can engage in discourse without resorting to condescension. You weaken your arguments.

If the only way you can be convinced by an argument is if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy then… you are pretty much what The Algorithm has made you. Maybe work on that. Or keep tone policing. Up to you.

But hey, I’ll keep in mind the importance of making you and others feel good when I… literally respond to what someone said.
