I actually find it more annoying if someone tries to initiate a Teams Call without the “do you have a minute for a quick call?”
Some things are easier to do via email. Some things are best discussed live. Be that via text or voice or video.

Slack and Teams were copies of Google Wave. They are very specifically hybrids of email and IM.
