    For TV Shows:

    • The Pitt
    • Fallout
    • Steal

    For Movies:

    Old Henry.

On the surface It is an excellent old school western, there are the bad guys, now everyone start shooting. Thing is as it progresses it becomes a lot more than that.

I went DVD-thrift-shopping yesterday. One of the movies I got was Their Finest. I’ve almost finished watching it.

I never heard of it before, but I decided to get it based on Bill Nighy being in it. I’m enjoying it.

    I watched The Hunger Games.

If they made a one time exception for Peeta and Katniss to win together, why in the second film are all the pairs related? Like the morphlings, nerds, the brother and sister, etc.

and the statistician in me was kinda pissed every district has two winners for the quarter quell. That’s 25 years = 26 winners, but there are 24 contestants with two from each district? Even by random chance you’d expect one district to lose out.

    • I think if there isn’t a victor for every district, they’d just do “Every living victor competes”, the point is to make a show of it to kill Katniss so it seems “legitimate” since they can’t just directly execute the victors, especially not Katniss since she has popularity. They have to keep up the pretenses of these “games” to maintain legitimacy.

But mostly its just storywriting… they want to make it “perfectly balanced” with the “two from each district” theme to make the story fit better.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Revisiting the GoT world (and pretending that last season never happened) has been fun so far

      Seconded, I’ve been enjoying it.

It gives (literally) more color to the setting. I like having the commoner perspective in the world, and I also like getting a better idea of what the Targaryen dynasty prior to Game of Thrones was actually like (the oldest characters in Game of Thrones are kids in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms).

Do you think it would be enjoyable to someone who really liked the books, mostly liked the show, and was completely sick of the entire thing by the end of the show?

A good chunck of The Big O season 2. Feels like a crescendo* in animation form, and the English dubbing is much better than the Japanese one for the noir atmosphere.

And going technical in the compliments, also someone cared a lot about machinery design it seems, specially on sound. Having worked a bit on metalurgy myself, the sounds for machinery but the mecha sound quite on point. And as for the mecha, the sounds together with the movements animation do give the impression of massive robots walking, and not just a tank in human form with 3 frames of movement.

*music term, and pun intended because of the relevance of music in the series

Just the Fallout finale, aside from the various late night shows and random animal videos I put on for the dog.

It was good. I do wish the season were a little bit longer. Not because I want the story unnecessarily stretched out, but I would enjoy a little more “side quest” type action to be able to enjoy being in the setting more, experiencing the world and its characters more.

And as a huge fan of his from Twin Peaks, it has been so delightful seeing Kyle McLaughlin in peak form.

As for the late night shows, there were some fun parts. I like how Stephen Colbert and his writers are pushing back against the administration and their own network as much as they can get away with. Also, I think The Daily Show writers don’t care for Gavin Newsom.

Oh, and if you’re looking for animal videos, I like We Rate Dogs. Need to find good channels for other critters. The dog loves birds and small mammals. Also donkeys and horses.
