The FBI has a project called ECAP, and basically some poor FBI agents have to watch CSAM to determine if they can locate the child or the offenders. Sometimes if they can get a shot of the offenders face or voice or movement, they post it on their website with the CSAM part blocked out to try and help find these sociopaths. It is AWFULLY hard to look at or hear even redacted like that. It’s very clear what they’re doing in the images.
So I cannot IMAGINE what this is like.

I have a strong constitution for trauma. My curiosity and desire for removing horrible people from power is strong. I still don’t feel safe opening those files. All I can do is hope that the right people do. People with judicial power and strength to effectuate action.

I don’t think so. This was on the news just a few days ago. I think the files are quite accessible, but only to high-level officials. The point is that it would take many days of full-time work to sift through everything, and they cannot offload it to other people working for them.

So no, the files aren’t accessible, there is zero way to get an honest accounting of even these 3 million of 8 million total pages that were illegally redacted before the justice department got to redacting them. 3 guys 1 hammer is a video of some kids killing a guy, but there’s no plot so I don’t think it counts as a “snuff film,” and by “homemade snuff films” do you mean they have a plot and some production value, lighting, scripting, and someone dies, or do you mean “murder that was filmed?” Because that’s kinda my point I don’t know if it counts without a plot.

See from this description I don’t count that as a “snuff film,” and I’m questioning if it counts, because of course “filmed death” isn’t a myth, there’s countless examples. A quick search defines “snuff films” as:
