    No no no. That can’t be right. If the definition of a serial killer is someone who kills many people, each police officer HAS TO be considered a serial killer.

    10x higher than other countries seems really low by that metric. Should be like 1000x more.

    An interesting point … but unless you can see the serial killers per capita, it’s distorted.

    When it comes to (single) homocides, the picture shifts substantially, the Americas are still at the top but Africa runs a close second. The PDF linked below (UN Drugs & Crime charts) has a very good set of PER CAPITA graphs to show the distribution worldwide. Here US homicide rates are much lower than Mexico and northern South America.

      The leaded gas really did not help. You can see the crime stats drop as it was phased out.
