No cos like we used to grow grapes in England and stuff so that means it’s not happening. I saw a tiktok on how it’s not true so I am informed. /s

There are wineries in Dover making sparkling wines that are ok to good though climate change should improve them for a bit

Nuclear fusion is becoming a reality with recent runs increasingly outputting more energy than input. It’s not a scientific discovery, but it is a great technological advance.

I don’t know what beats unlimited green energy, so that’s my top one.

Modern fusion research is definitely neat. Any idea what the Q value was for that last JET test? The article didn’t say.

Would you be interested in starting a fusion community on Lemmy, perhaps !fusion@futurology.today?

AI designed to detect communication have confirmed once and for all that dolphins have experience with language, with a dictionary of their communications currently in progress. Probably was the reasoning behind the most fun question serial that was touched upon by the Q&A community before, you know, the initiator was banned from it for verifiably untrue reasons and had to pass the torch. RIP our own little Dr. Dolittle.

      Hello,

Would you have another source for the research rather than a tiktokTikTok video without links and with one comment ?

It depends on what you mean by “similar to humans”. There are levels to communication and we already know they’re quite far up the hierarchy, even if not on the same level as us.

There are so many. The question isn’t where are the sources at this point, it’s where aren’t they? I would encourage looking it up even if only for that reason.

Didn’t we recently have a 20 minute conversation with a whale by playing back recorded messages?

Yeah, we recorded it using its species’ greeting system and it went out of its way to come to the researchers to say hi.
