Why bother? Chromium browsers suck.
Using an adblocker on chrome is the funniest shit, that’s like using a condom to fuck a sheep.
Good job using a condom, but what the fuck are you doing fucking a sheep?
Can’t wait till Kagi Browser releases their Linux version of a browser based on webkit, but it’s prob at least another year or more frmo being released and Gnome Web is so featureless it’s useless and can’t even play YouTube videos half the time in 2025…
Check out LibreWolf. There’s no reason to wait.
Librewolf is too hardened for my use case. By the time I tweak Librewolf to my liking, it’s functionally Firefox, but with a different icon, lol. Just gonna ride out Firefox for the next year or two and them jump off this ship.
Use librewolf or fennec (Firefox forks)

IronFox for LibreWolf fans on Android.
I used ironfox too, just a lot of website functionality was broken using it. (At least for me and this was months ago). Settled on fennec.
I main ironfox and use a base version of firefox for the occasional websites that break.
Been using it with uBlock Origin in medium mode which breaks even more sites and I don’t have much trouble with broken sites.
For the occasional website that just refuses to work, I use Cromite.
This, of course, will depend on the sites you use as well so YMMV.
I use IronFox all the time. For me almost nothing is broken.
Once a year I find one low value site that I have to load in Cromite to see what it is, and then I never use that trash site again.
In other words, IronFox fulfills 100% of all my browsing needs excellently.
I used Mull before IronFox, and my experience there was excellent as well.
There is no good reason to use Chrome today or even some years back when Mull was the thing.
Just user Firefox lol
People will do anything, but use Firefox

In what world does google docs etc not work in firefox? They’re webapps
I don’t think that comma belongs there
they were just making a statement and then also mentioning to use firefox
This guy gets it

, Yeah I don’t, think so either,.
Just use Firefox. Its people’s fault that it got so bad because you basically gave them a browser monopoly
For those that do need to use Chrome for whatever reason, don’t bother with all this faff just use uBOL, it’s just as good as uBO
Ubo has a video in the reddit sub on how to do it.
If you have to use a Chromium browser. Just use Brave. It haves a built in ad blocker.
You mean the browser that was caught injecting affiliate codes on cryptocurrency sites and misleading users into making donations that were collected by brave instead of the supposed recipient? That browser?
They fixed it, https://brave.com/blog/rewards-update.
They only made those changes after several of the people whose likeness they stole called them out. Regardless, it should never have happened in the first place.
The UBlock Origin Lite app (currently in Testflight beta but seems to be full, but hopefully coming to the app store soon) works great with iOS Safari. I use that on iOS and Firefox on the desktop, which turns out to be a great combo if you have password and bookmark management separate.
Firefox Focus is also great as the default browser on the phone to avoid links opening from Meta or Google in Safari.
Running the «Always in Container» extension in Firefox gives the same effect on desktop and avoids opening a link in the wrong container. Highly recommended: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/always-in-container/
Is the uBlock Origin Lite TestFlight app only for Safari or is it system wide?
I’d love to benefit from it while using Firefox on iOS.
Installs as a Safari Extension, so I believe it is only for Safari and not for the «webkit core» itself that all browsers on iOS use.
Another option is the Orion browser from Kagi that supports desktop extensions like Ublock Origin.
Thanks! Too bad the Orion browser won’t sync history & other stuff with Firefox.
Just ditch chrome. Done.
I use Firefox when ads are overrunning my screen
That is impossible for many people for the same reason why they still on Xitter, etc. They believe, that with enough willpower, the people ruining our software infrastructure can be convinced for the better. And also many people still believe that if you criticize their “meme browser” made by the cool “don’t be evil” company, you’re a Microsoft shill forcing them to use IE, that is buggy and slow.

Which I find absolutely hilarious, as Edgemium is a better browser than chrome. I still use Firefox first and foremost, but at work when I have to use something else, it performs better and has better features IMO.
They’re the same browser though. They use the same rendering engine, same JavaScript engine, etc. There are more similarities than differences.
They’re the same browser though.
They actually aren’t the same browser, since MS rips out some stuff and adds their own. Including features I like tree style tabs.
It’s a similar and derivative browser, but they aren’t the same.
There are more similarities than differences.
You can say the same about tons of things, but the differences are what matters. You and I share more similarities than differences, just like the browsers, but we aren’t the same person.
They’re the same in the ways I care about, which is rendering and javascript engines. I’m a developer, that’s what matters to me. I rarely interact with extra features, and I can get most of what’s unique about a given browser with extensions.
Right, the rendering engine is the same, that’s still not the browser. Again, just because it’s a derivative browser doesn’t make it the same browser.
I kinda think it does. I use a gecko browser as my main, and I use a chromium browser as my backup. I don’t use most of the default features, I just need a handful of extensions, and those are available everywhere.
So to me they’re pretty much the same. Brave is a little different since it embeds an ad blocker, but besides that, the rest of the chromium browsers are equivalent for me.
It blows my mind how many people use chrome over edge thinking that they are making super smart choice. I feel like I was still seeing memes on reddit making fun of Edge over Chrome.
And here I am, seeing both as equivalent. I honestly don’t see a meaningful difference between Edge and Chrome…
To be clear, that’s exactly what I mean. I use Firefox, but I find the edge vs chrome debate amusing.
Just fucking switch
Can’t switch if you never left ;-)
