That’s not collapse, that’s just justice. That’s people being held accountable for their crimes. Society is still going to function fine without them, their roles, if they even have any, will just be taken over by the next person in the command structure.

Or, better yet, we (as in society as a whole) can take the opportunity of clearing house to restructure our government (and, by extension, economic) systems to one where corrupt individuals cannot readily acquire hierarchical authority over others and entrench themselves behind layers of systemic powers.

Instead of an electoralist system where we elect representatives to dictate at their discretion which interests they will ultimately support for a federated system of syndicates where each has a set of delegates which have been assigned a specific responsibilities and expectations where, if those individuals are found to neglect their responsibilities, we can readily rescind their power of authority and replace them.

Power must come from the bottom up, otherwise we are slaves to the whims of those who wield authority from on high.

This is such embarrassing fantasy that it’s almost hard to believe that real people believe it, but traitor lunatics thrive on nonsense. This Epstein list is like the pizza parlor conspiracy.

If they can be destroyed by the truth, they absolutely must be destroyed by the truth.

From this point on, reporters should work off of the baseline assumption that everyone who voted not to release the documents are mentioned in the documents. Until proven otherwise.

I hate how hopeful I am. I keep believing that at some point these people on the right are going to wake up and realize what they’ve voted for.

And I am continuously disappointed as they make more and more excuses for the criminal acts their leadership has committed each time they come to light.

It would in no way impede the stability of society, quite the opposite. Those are the very same people who are responsible for much of the instability. If the US were to start prioritising the public good over the profits of the oligarchy, 99.99% of society would benefit.

Yeah. The only thing I see wrong with this is not doing it. If my reps are kiddie diddlers, or kiddie diddler enablers, I’d like to know so we can kick their asses straight to jail. I don’t really give a fuck if I need to participate in another election.

Trump says it can destroy innocent people? Why would innocent people be against publishing a list of pedophiles?

Yeah, they’re innocent people who do horrible crimes now and again, as a treat. But they’re “good people™”, so it’s considered very impolite to even suggest consequences for them

As opposed to criminals, who are definitely guilty of something, so it’s fine to punish them with or without evidence of any actual crime

This is genuinely how it works, it’s just cartoonishly obvious now

The worst thing that would happen would be the power vacuum it creates. I can totally see the Democrats splitting and a third party joining in, all fighting over what’s left.

In trump’s mind, there’s nothing more “innocent” that forcing two underage girls to dress up as maids, force them to perform sexual acts on each other and him, sexually assault them, and then tell them they “performed adequately “ before leaving them

Trump will play this one like he’s played so many others: “It’s a witch hunt. They’re making up accusations to smear me. They’ll do anything to take me down because they hate me. They hate you too. See how the woke mob treat people? This is why we must destroy them.”

Allegations of sexual misconduct have a mixed history (at best) of being taken seriously. Unless there is airtight evidence locked up in those files which was specifically composed for the purpose of implicating people, and then sealed for blackmail leverage or something like that, I can’t see any charges sticking to Trump. I mean the fucker is already an impeached convicted felon and self-confessed (on tape!) rapist. His flock will never turn against him.

“It’s good innocent fun that boys do, we have to stop persecuting these men for just doing what all men want!”

This is going to be the pro-pedo narrative that the entire right does their abrupt 180 with.

Because rich people are allowed to rape children. Innocence is bought. Sometimes the language they use just exposes what they really mean. You just have to pay attention.

They’re not dumb. The language and the words they use reveals a lot. They are saying that revealing the worst crimes of the capitalist class will destroy the world because the capitalist class will side with pedophiles before they let the proletariat take their power.

They are saying “don’t make us go full fascist death camps. Revealing this will just lead to us treating the entire population like we have Gaza. We’ll defend our pedophiles if we need to to maintain power”

I severely doubt society would collapse. I’m even willing to bet that it would begin to flourish. If people with power and control are willing to do these things to kids, imagine what they do to you even now with their executive powers.

I’m seriously wondering that if these people refuse to release the information, it’s time to vote for these representatives with lead next. This cannot be tolerated and we need to ensure people are afraid to commit such atrocious crimes on our young.

Ah yes, the world will collapse because of a problem that is almost exclusively in the USA.

On an unrelated note, have you ever heard of Americentrism?

The world’s most powerful people going to prison would not cause the collapse of society. That is just not what society is. Even setting aside all hate for the 0.1% and judgments about whether they deserve prison, it’s just ridiculous to say that society depends on them. Who even wrote that line? Ayn Rand’s grandson?
