WASHINGTON/MOSCOW/KYIV, Aug 16 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Ukraine should make a deal to end the war with Russia because “Russia is a very big power, and they’re not”, after a summit where Vladimir Putin was reported to have demanded more Ukrainian land.
After the two leaders met in Alaska on Friday, Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that Putin had offered to freeze most front lines if Kyiv ceded all of Donetsk, the industrial region that is one of Moscow’s main targets, a source familiar with the matter said.

Does anyone realistically think Ukraine can take their land back through continuing the war? Europe is willing to buy American weapons, but is that enough?

Ukraine has been doing pretty goddamn well for the position they are in. If anybody actually goes and intervenes in Ukraines favor they win, end of story. Course at this point Trump would try and send US troops to support Russia but we’re pretending the US isn’t just a blatant Russian asset rn
Friday: France and Germany send troops to help Ukraine.
Saturday: Trump sends marines to help Russia to help deescalate things. GOP demands Trump be giving Nobel peace prize for his historic move.
If things in Russia keep going the way they are, Ukraine can take Russia too. Not that anybody wants Russia.
