That’s not a given in this case, only because there was a competing offer from Paramount-Skydance and they have Trump’s ear. And they’re already making a stink about the process being unfair to them.
And honestly, of the two, WB going to Skydance would be much, much worse. Look what they’ve already done to Paramount. Not to say either of these deals are good for consumers, of course.
But the thing is, the transphobes never come right out and say they’re doing it because they hate trans people. It’s always that they have “reasonable concerns” about “safety” and “quality of life” and whatever else. It is absolutely worth pointing out that these “concerns” evaporate when we are talking about cis people, not because I think it will change their mind (it won’t, these people know they are hypocrites and don’t care), but for the sake of any onlookers who might take them at face value.
They are apparently going to maintain HBO Max as a separate service, but plan to add some HBO content to Netflix. So not really.

They don’t care; they honestly believe it is their right to oppress others, and anyone stopping them from doing so (or even suggesting they shouldn’t) is oppressing them.
According to the press release as quoted by Fightful, they are just acquiring Warner Bros, not Discovery. So the split plan will go forward, just with the WB half (including HBO Max) joining Netflix, while Discovery (including TBS/TNT) will not. So at the very least, AEW will still have a cable home (unless Paramount acquires Discovery or something).
IWTV is still a thing, but I don’t think it’s a collective.

This is a massive upgrade, just from a positioning perspective. AMC is a top 40 network in the US, and AXS doesn’t even make the top 125. Plus AMC has their own streaming service.
It’s a bit of an odd fit, since AMC isn’t really a sports/events network. They’re mostly about movies and prestige television (The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Interview With The Vampire). But it will result in TNA being in a lot more homes.

I’m happy for TNA’s success (though I wish it didn’t come to them as a feeder league for WWE), but this is ridiculous. TNA is nowhere near the level where they can fill Wembley, for example, and I don’t think a better TV deal changes that. They had the better TV deal, after all, and they were legitimately #2 in the US, and even then, they couldn’t manage what AEW has been doing. And that was when TV deals were more meaningful than they are now.
In my town, there’s a lot of beautiful parks to hang out at. I can take a workshop down at the library. The museums sometimes have free admission days. There’s lots of great things to do at low or no cost, you just have to look for them.
This is one place where traditional social media shines. Following local establishments on Facebook, or joining your city’s subreddit, can keep you in the loop about cheap or free events in your city.
From what I understand, WWE has very little leverage with Netflix at this point. They’ve been severely underperforming since the move.
Netflix might do something to AEW if they’re contractually obligated to, but I don’t know if they’d be interested in otherwise going out of their way to make WWE happy.
