Afternoon dookie?
Coffee has never given me shits. Maybe because I already had a ton of caffeine in my system
“We’ve had first coffee, but what about seventh coffee?”
Elevensies?
Chocolate covered espresso beans.
All the caffeination and none of the urination.
Yay muscle pain.
(also, you guys say toothache but not muscleache?)
Isn’t caffeine the chemical compound stimulating the production of urine? You’d be pissing more…but I guess if you theoretically eat enough beans and run out of bodily fluids…
Now with added dehydration!
I bought some of these yesterday and can’t stop eating them. They are like fucking crack to me. So delicious.
Update: I ate them all
Watch out.
I was talking to a doctor I know from work. We got on the subject of coffee and he told me of a classmate of his who brought a five pound bag to power him through exams. Ended up in the hospital overdosed on caffeine. A handful a day is plenty
Lmao the thought had crossed my mind but they are so good! At least I don’t have any more! I am also on a med that reduces your ability to metabolize caffeine so it’s even worse!!!
Is this actually a thing? I’ve only ever heard it from people in the US.
It’s basically the only reason I actually drink coffee for.
From my personal experience:
I’m not a regular coffee drinker. Whenever I do drink one, I get the urge to go number 2 within 15 minutes.
I’m Canadian, sometimes you’ve just gotta go more than once a day
I meant more the “coffee makes you shit” thing. I’ve not encountered the idea across the pond.
James Hoffman released a video on this on YT a couple weeks ago, its a bacteria that’s unique to the gut biome of Coffee drinkers.
The video is more playful and cartoony than his normal work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZnAQ-PWQdg
Coffee is a diuretic, but I don’t know if its the caffiene. Other caffeine drinks don’t make me have to use the bathroom soon after, like coffee does. It’s not giving diarreah, it’s just moving things along.
James Hoffman just recently made a video on this very subject: https://youtu.be/LZnAQ-PWQdg
Maybe its the temperature of the coffee too.
i drink my tea that hot, it does not do it. coffee does.
Typical tea has around 50mg of caffeine. Typical espresso based drink has 2 or 3 espresso shots at around 65mg each. Plus milk, which a bunch of adults can’t digest to at least some degree.
so you’re in luck i know way too much about my gut. i can test for part of the gut but i’m missing much of mine. the parts i have, black coffee accelerates transit around 33% (reduces by 1/4). Short version, it stimulates peristalsis to a degree that tea does not. If you would like specific numbers I’m going to need a day or two.
It may be the quantity, energy drinks do it too.
