I’m going to be honest, in the journalist’s shoes I wouldn’t have leaked it to anyone except congress, either. Trump is criminalizing himself while also removing a militaristic dictator from power, it is congress’ duty to stop that and they’re a Republican trifecta.

as if congress would’ve done anything

the whistleblower should’ve leaked it directly to the venezuelan government, if possible

        congress would’ve done anything

I’m sure plenty of them knew and didn’t act. They were probably told about it on a Signal chat.

Guess what Trump sucks too, but I’m sure we would want a heads up if another country was about to come “liberate us”. The soldiers signed up for this and at this point “just following orders” doesn’t exempt them from the risks of an illegal invasion of another country. The alternative is Maduro would have broadcast knowledge of the upcoming attack and it would have been called off. No soldiers dead, US citizens aware of the attempt, and just a little more uncertainty inside the Trump administration. But we’ll never know. Still, it’s hard for me to imagine what is playing out right is not significantly worse than any outcome from a leak. This has opened the floodgates for this administration to more boldly carry out additional invasion of other countries with little to no checks and balances in place.

Unlike Trump, I hope Trump dies in a cold and uncomfortable prison. I hope his entire family has to pay reparations for the damages he has caused, I hope they fine his estate for the laws he breaks.

His actions aside, it is Congress and Congress alone who decides which battles the USA fights. Trump has broken numerous laws in this event alone, an almost uncountable number total, and should pay dearly for it.

But also, Fuck Maduro, Maduro sucks.

Who told you that? Mr Liberal, you don’t honestly think anything good for humanity ever comes from the American empire’s geopolitical moves, right? You don’t think an American imposed government would better represent the people over there, right? If Maduro is so bad, why did the American empire topple him? Why couldn’t he just work with them and sell his country and soul like that new Japanese PM, for instance?

What is your prediction of what would happen if you had tipped Venezuela’s militaristic dictatorship government headed by Maduro that Trump was going to abduct Maduro at night?

If you just write “US Media” then it stays impersonal. Certain people had the information. Make their names known. Make the world know that those specific people are complicit with a rogue state run by pedophiles.

US media is successfully cowed by the fascist administration’s threats to their precious profit margins.
