Nah, if someone trains an AI on their own art, that must be pretty fun. I saw good artists doing this and well those pictures are clearly much worse than original drawings, but still quite meme-exploitable and original. Not glossy of course, who draws glossy stuff anyway?
I feel like using AI for memes is like cooking food with a flamethrower. They are much better when they are obviously low-effort. GenAI images try really hard to hide how little effort was involved in their creation.

however it kind of feels like those pieces of art that are purposefully repulsive, like a kid with a rat in mouth or something. It’s kind of complicated enough for AI-metairony-proAI-antiAI-memes to be a sick form of art. It just got to be, like, purposeful, I guess. Once you can’t explain it really, it starts working.

I disagree, shitty paint drawings or stickmen are million times better than AI slop. Glossy AI images suck the fun away, for me at least.
