bicycling/lists, they turned out to be douches in our area whining and complaining about certain legislation that doesnt benefit them, reduced the size of the roads just for them. you know they are one of them, when th ey have all that bicyling gear on them,

Bicycle lanes are always a chicken/egg problem, If you build safe bicycle lanes (and not just drop some painting on the road without changing anything else) you’ll drag more cyclist, which in the end let more space on the road for people who really need it. It’s annoying for the car-drivers, but it’s not like car aren’t annoyance for the rest of the population either. Too many cities gave the priority to car in absurd proportions.

Regarding traffic code, it’s a complicated topic, there is some minor changes of rules which are really making cycling more efficient, I am thinking about the right-turn on red or the dual way bike-lane in single-way street (when technically possible). On the other hand, some cyclists indeed ignore every possible regulation, all while not having the experience to understand what’s safe and what isn’t

reduced the size of the roads just for them

Reducing the size of roads actually makes it better for everyone. It reduces the rate of traffic fatalities by reducing speed. It’s especially important for pedestrians and anyone in a car that’s not a giant fucking truck or SUV.

I’m about two months into owning a fully-electric vehicle (not a Tesla, thank goodness), and I have a hard time getting over how wonderfully quiet it is. And it’s one of the qualities I couldn’t wait to experience.

Another reason to look forward to electric vehicles! Imagine a world 20 years from now where the noise is vanishing, the gasoline/deisel smell is only for the diehards going to that one remaining service station that still sells it, no more visible emissions from cars or rolling coal!

I’m a semi car guy and I made my car “louder” on purpose. It wasn’t for attention or to make girls wet. It was literally because I liked the sound, and it’s less restrictive, which means more horsepower.

I get that some are obnoxious, and I’m not saying they’re not doing it for attention. But, some of us just want to enjoy our car.

also I’d wager there’s some non-renewable energy being used when you charge either at home or away, and even then, motoring for fun is releasing tons of other shit (particulates from your tires) - maybe time to find a new ‘hobby’

For sure. Given that public roads are the most horrendously undertaxed public resources out there, it’s especially irritating when folks go out of their way to use them in the most self serving fashion imaginable.

Private tracks exist. They don’t mind engine noise.

                  1. Not everyone can afford an electric car 2. Harassing individuals has been identified as counter productive over and over again. Maybe try to help the climate crisis by holding the corporations actually responsible for the issue accountable instead of alienating potential allies and giving the movement an overall insufferable vibe.

I don’t know what world you live in, where all your hobbies are so perfect that they don’t have any adverse effects at all to the world at large.

But God forbid, someone enjoys something you don’t.

You could extend that holier-than-thou attitude to your hobby of posting on the Internet from a device that releases tons of other shit from its manufacturing process and the electricity that powers it - maybe time to find a new ‘hobby’

lol you probably think your shitwagon spewing hydrocarbon exhaust doesn’t count, get fucked. made car louder on purpose is a cute way of saying “I intentionally circumvented the engine’s efficiency in order to VROOM VROOM LOUDER” because that’s what your doing.

Enjoy tinnitus, shame you couldn’t keep it and your exhaust bullshit to yourself.

Future generations are going to despise this one - we had all the knowledge needed, just couldn’t motivate fuckwits to give up their vroom vroom for the sake of the ONE LIVABLE BIOSPHERE IN THE UNIVERSE WE HAVE ACCESS TO.

Loudly and intrusively hating things that other people like.

If someone likes a terrible show or movie or musician or whatever else… just let them like their thing. It’s okay to state your point if you somehow get dragged into a conversation on the merits of a given thing, but making a point of shitting on something that someone likes when they’re in no way harming you is just shitty behavior, and it’s not going to accomplish anything.

    Don’t yuck other people’s yums.

I would assume so? The material would get hot through solar radiation and probably not radiate much heat off itself while receiving radiation. There’s no fluid medium in space for convection, so conduction would be the main mode of heat transfer for a person.
