I’m about to take a long flight and am looking to expand my music library.
EDIT: Thanks so much, everyone! I’ve got 10.5 hours of music on my new playlist thanks to you all!
Machinae Supremacy - Sidology 3 – metal covers of songs from old video games actually also using a SID chip.
Fontaines DC, the most recent album. Plus the cover Porter Robinson did of Favorite from that album.
That song with Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman, Right Back to It.
Nilufer Yanya album My Method Actor
Joshua Ray Walker, anything by him is so good.
In this moment. It’s kinda… Synth metal?
Carpenter Brut?
Never heard of him, just googled it and the description sounds similar. I’ll check it out tomorrow as I’m about to go to bed, but thanks for something new to check out!
Synth metal is right up my alley and I’d call Carpenter Brut the king of it.
Few tracks I’d recommend in particular:
-
Hairspray Hurricane
-
Turbo Killer
-
Le Perv
There’s way more than that but that’s a good start. Of his albums, Trilogy is more synth, Leather Teeth is middle, and Leather Terror is more metal, but all of them go extremely hard
You might like aggrotech music
That’s sick too. Started out kinda like knife party and then went a different direction. I like it.
YouTube music playlist of some of my favorite bands.
-
Sevendust, Black Out the Sun, the whole album in order is epic.
British band “Jungle” has been in heavy rotation for me the past ~6 months. Specifically watch their music videos and the dance choreography. I suggest playing the entire album “Volcano” as one video.
I recently discovered the band Mar Malade and its really great!
The Armed and Idles. Seriously can’t get enough of them.
Egg by Mr. Bungle.
Massive Breakz and Def Cut are pretty dope
outkast speakerboxxx/the love below. its like 2 hours perfect for plane ride
Hmmmm Not exactly what you are asking about, but i love the energy of “Kickstart my heart” by Motley Crue and “Get it on” by Turboneger.
Both starts hard sang continues in the same fashion. I want more og that energy and rhythm.
“Stand up and shout” by Dio is close, but it feels tiny bit harder/faster.
Anybody got other songs in the same vibe/ energy. Not a slow build up. Just 1-2-3-4 rock!
Get it on” by Turboneger.
Great somg but did the band change their name from Turbonegro? (the second half is pronounced like the color in Spanish and not the ethnic demonym in English)
I think they anglified it to Turbonegro. It can be the official name nowv and for a while… My bad inn that case 😄
They changed it in the 1990s as the original version was a racist slur
According to Wikipedia it’s an English and Norwegian name

https://no.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turboneger
I’m sure you can call them whichever you want
Colin Stetson is a fantastic ride. He plays instrumental music, but he’s playing lower-pitched instruments *wrong.".
Mics on the keys are picking up rhythmic clicking acting as the percussion. He is sometimes shouting through the instrument. The end result sounds like a chase through the woods in the dark.
I was intrigued by your description but also thought I’d hate it. Gave it a listen and was pleasantly surprised, he’s super talented and his music is totally unique.
I’m glad you like it!
I found him some time ago and it’s great to unwind after a tough day. I’ll play it on my Bluetooth speaker in the shower.
Japanese Breakfast, the latest single Picture Window has been living in my head rent free since I first heard it
Time for you to get into some American Football Never Meant (music video)
Stone cold classic, good to see other emo bands like Penfold back too (praying for a Europe/UK tour)
I’m not obsessed with Wisp
it’s much deeper than that
