I think before airplane people would have said the same of Leslie Nielson. I’m going to reserve judgement for now.

I mean there’s seriously no way to top the original. Even the 2nd & 3rd ones with Leslie Nielsen weren’t as strong as the first movie. But I’m willing to give this a chance and hope it makes me laugh a few times. I can use it.

All three were varying degrees of great, but it still didn’t measure up to #1.
I like that they are leveraging Liam’s seriousness in a slapstick movie. It lands well with me, but hopefully it fulfills in execution.
Neeson is perfect. His voice in the Lego movie works because of his gravitas. Throw that in with shameless dick jokes and sethmcfarlane…I mean I’m as big of a fan of the original as you can get but this trailer even looks hilarious…and I hate trailers.
Leslie Nielson was also a serious dramatic actor before Airplane! and Police Squad.
Before the ZAZ movies, Nielson was not only a serious actor, he often played the heavy(!)
Rewatched the first one last night and laughed out loud so many times - which is not normal for me.
Much better version of the first trailer.
Ok this trailer is 100x better. Exactly what I would have expected to see.
I think the worst thing working against the movie is its production value. It looks more like a Bad Boys or 21 Jump Street movie than a Police Squad reboot. With the originals, the camp was the point.
