If Arpineh Masihi could vote, she would have cast her ballot for Donald Trump. She’s a devout supporter of the US president – even now that she’s locked up as an illegal immigrant.

“He’s doing the right thing because lots of these people don’t deserve to be here,” Arpineh told the BBC over the phone from the Adelanto immigrant detention centre in California’s Mojave Desert.

“I will support him until the day I die. He’s making America great again.”

In 2008, she was convicted of burglary and grand theft and was sentenced to two years in prison. An immigration judge revoked her Green Card, which is a common practice. But because she is a Christian Armenian Iranian, the judge allowed her to remain in the country instead of being deported.

It’s, unfortunately, very real. We’re here because millions of eligible voters just couldn’t be fucking bothered.

You are a hominid. We are a troupe species. We are susceptible to social manipulation which can overwhelm our reasoning, because we survived based on trust.

Some of us have overstimulated amygdalas because of biology and various kinds of anxiety. This enhances the vulnerability to manipulation by another minority, the sociopaths.

For the species to continue to survive, we must keep the sociopaths from manipulating and the amygdaloids from falling into cults.

If you accept it, this is your mission.

These are Cipolla’s five fundamental laws of stupidity:

Always and inevitably, everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.

A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.

Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular, non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places, and under any circumstances, to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

I know this parallel grows old but consider the followers of nazi Germany. They ran after Germany First, country prude, nationalism, etc. Were they all bad people knowingly making bad choices? Were they brainwashed or lulled into a false belief that, even if they could recognize their own cognitive dissonance, they were in too deep to turn back now?

Who knows? But the answer to me is, “yes. Yes it is a cult.” shun anyone who doesn’t belief.

German Jews sent to concentration camps were often patriotic national-socialists.

Nothing new. Conformance is the expected behavior. Being confident that the only way you suffer is if you don’t conform is there too.

“I don’t blame Trump, I blame Biden,” Arthur says. “It’s his doing for open borders, but I believe in the system and all the good people will be released and the ones that are bad will be sent back.”

    How stupid can one be?

A lot of people think stupidity is a virtue.

That the world where being stupid is a disadvantage is intentionally created by someone woke\bad\immoral\treacherous. That them being stupid and loyal will work well in a special system for stupid and loyal people.

When the system around is not such, they are trying to break it to get to their heaven for loyal boors. They really think such exists. That it’s morally worth it.

That’s an ignorant take and a clear indication that you bought into the narrative that Muslims are evil. But let’s assume you are right, as an Armenian she could also go to Armenia.

I somehow feel like a Christian American Trump supporting woman would not be welcomed back into the Muslim world with open arms. I’m sure her fate wouldn’t be the same in every country but “good” would not describe her future.

The word “evil” is meaningless. Cultures act and react based on their own rules. Honor killing exists. Stoning exists. Domestic slavery exists. If that’s how they want to live, have fun. But don’t pretend the Muslim world does not include these cultural practices.
