Wait, they’re not all made in China? Last time we were ordering some for a development board at work, we had to source them from China, though that was admittedly a few years back.

Yikes, that would make cpu’s as expensive as gpu’s, and gpu’s, well, unaffordable altogether.

He will exempt companies who makes chips in the US - as long as they make some of them in the US, their imports are exempt from the tariff. A quick glance says major chip makers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) have some production facilities in the US.

The only thing that will stop this tariff nonsense is the economic collapse of the U.S. as a consequence. Narcissists thrive on attention, and we have a narcissistic toddler repeatedly lashing out for attention, and getting it. Every time he announces a tariff, every news outlet covers it, giving him narcissistic supply. Then, the leaders of whatever countries are affected by the tariffs are then invited to come and kiss his ass in order to try to avoid economic ruin, making Trump feel powerful and giving him even more narcissistic supply. Until the consequences fall with their full weight, which have been delayed by companies stocking up on inventory in advance of the tariffs, Trump is perceived as “winning” the tariff game. Make no mistake, the biggest loser with all these tariffs it the U.S. economy.

I’m genuinely shocked that the .1% aren’t pushing back against this kind of shit. Or are they just gambling that the inevitable depression will allow them to make out like bandits AND that it won’t be so bad as to trigger outright societal collapse?

As long as he is alive he can be propped against a podium to say racist, upsetting shit, then Stephen Miller and more clandestine moneyed interests like David Koch and Peter Theil pull the strings of the party and movement. Its probably better for operators heavily invested in Trump if he’s less intellectually competent.

Just 100%? Why not 400% or 9999999%? Hell, invent a new order of magnitude, call it Trumpillion and impose a Trumpillion percent tarriff, that’ll show’em how strong you are and will distract them from the Epstein files!

“Likely”? What kind of pathetic simping language is that. There is no “likely” about prices going up from such a move.

    This is an amazing idea.

I’m sure manufacturers will have e their new supply chains and manufacturing plants ready to go in a few weeks.
