It’d be fantastic if Kimmel just says “fuck you” and donates to as many causes that Carotid Artery Charlie absolutely HATED and railed against as possible

A donation to a charity focusing on ending gun violence would be an excellent fuck you if he wanted to pretend to be diplomatic about it.

Kimmel should post a full-throated denunciation of these media conglomerates capitulation and launch his own show.

He and Colbert and Stewart should legit start a new network and just constantly troll the regime. Maybe get Al Franken too - I’m still pretty livid about how he got character assassinated by the fucking DNC.

Hell, maybe they can rope in some actual progressive members of congress (AOC, Tlaib, Sanders, Porter, and so on - but absolutely not the ones who only pay lip service, and fucking NONE of the old guard or corporatists or neoliberals or political consultant class) and seriously bootstrap an actual progressive party to challenge and supplant the Democratic Party. If they were to do that, I’d definitely be willing volunteer my time and expertise to help them make it work.

You think the FCC could stop it? None of the openly fascist owned media will carry it regardless of the money it might make them. Because it isn’t about making money it’s about controlling the narrative.

They should pool their funds and set up streams online. YouTube, Floatplane, peer tube, Patreon, merch etc. Each one of them is pretty well set for life. They can be their own bosses and do what they love.

I generally watched their monologues and segments on YouTube anyway. No one has the time or interest in watching the desert of entertainment content on broadcast tv anymore anyhow.

Has Kimmel said anything about what’s going on? Made any public statements? If he has we should blow them up right? Show that you can’t shut them up. Sadly I can’t find any

He’s probably going to bring a legal case. It’s better to be quiet in public when you’re going to be legally challenging this type of thing.

I wouldn’t donate a single cent to that hate group but I would publicly give them my two cents and tell them to kindly go F themselves and then donate to planned parenthood and NAACP and Pride groups.

It is Sinclair though, they are the unnamed affiliate from the headline. They own 39% of ABC local stations nationwide (officially, with more through shell corps), which is why they were able to pull this bs. Although, I’m sure ABC/Disney would have folded anyways with the FCC threatening them.

No worries, it would be far more accurate of the headline to list it as sinclair media anyways instead of a nameless affiliate.

Media giant Sinclair called on Jimmy Kimmel to apologize directly to Charlie Kirk’s family over remarks he made about the conservative activist’s killing, and to give both them and Turning Point USA a “meaningful personal donation.”

The fact that he hasn’t made any statement about this situation yet strongly suggests that he’s got them stick straight legs. Guy’s got plenty of money, and now, more attention on him than he’s probably ever had in his life. From a “making his way in the world” perspective, he’s fine.

Let the fascists keep digging a while, no reason to say anything at all until the absolute right moment presents itself.

That’s also true, and I’d bet he and his people are in discussions with them and with other platforms already. The lack of a statement from him to date would go along with that, too.

He’s not getting the show back, not without agreeing to be nice which defeats the fucking purpose. The president said as much after he got Colbert fired, that Kimmel was next. Appeasing them will not fix anything it will only make them worse. Making these appeasers pay for their Craven betrayal will help.

As Pritzker said just yesterday, there are consequences to standing up, but the consequences of not standing up are so much worse.

Pritzker is the expert on not standing up. Seeing as he did not stand up in 2024 when we needed somebody that could win the Democratic presidential race, and he chose not to. Apparently bad faith bigotry allegations are enough to prevent our Democratic leaders from saving our country from an unthinkable irreversible results. Newsom too. Both failed america and have forfeited there right to run for presidency in the future.

Yet by not standing up and taking the presidency they did an inquantifiably larger amount of damage.

Why are the leaders in opposition to the Republicans all fucking cunts? That’s a good question, what is not in question is that pritzker is one of said cunts in question. No challenge for house leadership, senate leadership, not the presidency, not even with a universally unpopular candidate that never breached 30% approval offering zero reform running as the status quo in 2024.

I doubt he does. He is probably staying quiet for now, checking with lawyers on if there is any recourse.
