“There are 15 million illegal aliens,” Miller said adding that “if each were given a full trial, deportations would take centuries”
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said in a video that went viral on Friday that undocumented immigrants are not entitled to due process protections when being removed from the United States, arguing that providing full legal proceedings would make deportations unworkable.
“There are 15 million illegal aliens,” Miller said. “If each were given a full trial, deportations would take centuries. They had no due process entering the country, and they are not entitled to it when being removed.”
Supreme Court precedent has long held that constitutional protections apply to noncitizens within U.S. territory. In Wong Wing v. United States (1896), the Court ruled that the Fifth Amendment’s due process clause protects noncitizens from arbitrary detention or punishment.
You didn’t have due process to be born Stephen, so you don’t deserve it when we put your neck in a guillotine.
I’d prefer slowly lowering him into a wood chipper, feet first. After we feed him a ton of adrenaline so he can’t pass out.
Nah go dangle first
Too fast.
I said slowly.
Still too fast.
I propose keeping him alive for decades to work in horrid toiling conditions 16 hours per day, 7 days a week. Sleeping where he works. One meal per day, unpleasant.
Diamond mines in Africa? Some repetitive manual factory labor?
He can earn the woodchipper after 4 decades…
Do you know what happens when someone’s feet never get dry? They start to dissolve kinda. Melt into the sock and shoe.
I like the way you think.
I suggest coal mines though. Chances of black lung are much higher, and I’ve heard it’s an awful way to die.
Probably unpopular opinion, but torturing our current problems wont prevent our future problems.
I disagree but it’s kind of a soft disagreement, as I don’t really know for sure. Obviously we’re all joking about the torture, and don’t condone violence…
But, we generally torture people of small crimes, or torture objectively innocent people. Think of the children in the African mines, still to this day.
The people who are causing all our problems never or rarely get tortured. And because they have all the wealth and power, they rarely get any form of punishment. They aren’t afraid of any consequences, generally.
So if we actually did start torturing them, and showing them they’re not invincible, would they change their ways?.. Idk but maybe.
Nope. Torture isn’t a deterrent, it’s a sadistic indulgence.
If Miller ever faces people’s justice, it should be with due process, and if he’s found guilty, the outcome should be fast, cheap and irreversible.
Punishment as a deterrent hasn’t worked for the entirety of human civilization. Otherwise we would have fewer murders than other countries as we continue to be one of the few places that cling to capital punishment. There will always be monsters. I won’t argue that murder isn’t justified, but it also isn’t a “solution” in the strictest sense. Fear is what you’re talking about and it is a fickle master.
Nah, he deserves a much more ironic punishment more suited to make him miserable.
He deserves to be forced to afford rent on minimum wage in an inner city surrounded by the people he hates.
In Venezuela
How about he is forced to pick up trash alongside the highways, and the government makes very prominent, hyper-cool videos about it, just like they are making for people carted off to CECOT?
Most days he is picking up trash by the highway, and other days he has to work in Hispanic communities doing community service like working in a soup kitchen, bussing tables? Ideally, all he hears all day long is Spanish.
Nah, not painful enough
He could just be sent to CECOT or a random Sudanese prison. I think it’s still too good for him, but I’m willing to compromise.
Vivisection is what he deserves. Then we may actually find out what the fuck is wrong with him before he dies in terror.
Watch Nuremberg. The doctor played my Ramek was a fucking fortune teller. Really scary shit when you read up on his research and his thoughts on Nazis, which seem to be pretty accurate nearly 100 years later.
Wood chipper! Wood chipper! Wood chipper! We throw a list of these cronies into the chipper on live tv things will change really quick
Mr Miller, needs no trial when someone Luigi’s him. I call dibs on pissing on his corpse
I’ll go second. Or 5,000th. As long as I get to piss on his grave on my future piss tour of these ghoul’s graves.
I want him to be publicly executed. Ideally by due process but I’m increasingly ok with by mob
Dumbass
You need due process to even know if they are illegal aliens. They just want to deport people without checking.
Oh, they “checked”. They held up the color chart.
I’m pretty sure some natural-born citizens have already been disappeared by ICE
Can’t stress this enough, but Stephen Miller is one of the shittiest humans alive. Has all the earmarks of an asshole young man who was shunned by all women, and he’s out for his revenge. What a twat.
And he’ll probably be president someday
Got my tomatoes and strike fund ready, when are we national striking?
micropenis confirmed
Wouldn’t it be nice if people like shithead steve could have their faces melt like the Nazi in Indiana Jones?
Not how anything works.
This man is really stupid.
And vile.
Bring us yo huddled masses
The rights in the Constitution apply (in the words of the Constitution) to “all persons,” not “all persons that Pee Wee Goebbels approves of.”
That means they can remove anyone without due process…
They could say literally anyone didn’t come in the country legally, and “due process” is where people can prove they should be here
This is the same as when people would drown women, and if died she wasn’t a witch so everyone would celebrate even tho they just killed an innocent.
No regard for false positives.
Fascists don’t believe in due process, they believe in whims enforced at gunpoint.
Due process is applying for a permission before moving to the place. I had several relatives living legally in the USA, and some are still there.
And what’s your point?
…
Let’s say ICE sees you this afternoon.
They declare you an “illegal alien” and take you into custody before sending you to an overseas prison with no trial and no options for you to talk to anyone not in holding with you…
How the ever loving fuck does someone prove they’re actually citizen before they’re shipped out of the country?
This guy managed twice already.
…
No he didn’t.
Both times they eventually let him go before taking him anywhere.
Did you even read it first, or did you read it and just not understand what’s happening?
They declare you an “illegal alien” and take you into custody
But as he is documented and has an ID, even though they claimed it could be false, they had to check and then released him.
Were there cases of actually documented/legal immigrants being deported? I saw about undocumented children that would technically be citizens for being born in the USA but had no documents to prove it so they were deported alongside parents… I’m not judging the morality of it, but if people that had “due process” to enter are getting “due process” when detained, then the deputy statement is not contradictory.
hey had to check and then released him
No they didn’t.
They did check, thought it was real, and release him…
But that’s not always what happens, and still isn’t “due process”, which at this point I’m sure you don’t know what it actually means.
but if people that had “due process” to enter are getting “due process” when detained, then the deputy statement is not contradictory.
What are you talking about?
Do you legitimately think that because one person didn’t get the worst possible result, no one does?
If you heard someone drove drunk without getting a DUI, would you suddenly start telling everyone no one can get a DUI and driving drunk is safe because that one drunk didn’t cause an accident?
Do you legitimately think that because one person didn’t get the worst possible result, no one does?
I just asked it. I’m not from the USA, I don’t follow your news. I know illegals aren’t getting due process because there was quite a coverage of the first batch of deportees we received back in January. They were all chained and humiliated, and the way they were treated caused a diplomatic ruckus. However, I haven’t heard about actual citizens being deported (but again, I don’t really follow your news). As I said, I myself have relatives living in the USA, and of course the first thing I asked them was how things were there with ICE and shit, but they didn’t mention being harassed or anything. Well, one is blue-eyed, so she is probably not getting racially profiled, but the other looks latina af - but she is also an army medic and probably carries some army ID in case she is stopped by ICE or something.
Due process protections are still mostly in place, which is why he’s still there and able to file a lawsuit. Without them, as Miller seems to be advocating, they might have simply decided his ID was fake and deported him.
they might have simply decided his ID was fake and deported him.
They’re doing that now and have been doing it…
The reason there’s an article about that guy, is because they didn’t just disappear him.
The fact that it doesn’t happen 100%, doesn’t mean it happens 0%.
That’s basic logic
He seems to be advocating no due process for people that entered with no due process, not no due process for everyone…
And how does one determine whether someone entered with due process?
Due process is a right that is either offered to all or none. There is no in-between.
And how does one determine whether someone entered with due process?
… they check the person’s name/identity/documents… that’s how you know if the person is legal or not…
Without due process, he could just accuse anyone of having entered illegally and deny them any chance to prove otherwise, including checking their documentation
Which means they can deport ANYONE regardless of how they entered, or natural born citizens, because the due process is also how you prove you’re a citizen…
My god how are people this stupid.
This statement is coming from a man who has overseen the deportation of countless documented immigrants and even citizens. It would be incredibly naive to trust DHS to oversee this with no oversight even without that context. But with it, this is full on delusional. Seriously, how do people end up like this? I don’t get it. The average grade school student could see this is a bad idea but even after having it explained multiple ways you still can’t grasp basic concepts of how government works.
Actually, a lot of them being kicked out now are being pulled from their court dates, so they are following due process.
This scumbag should die in a jail cell.
Not to mention the ones they are simply cancelling their visas and other legal arrangements and then arresting and deporting. Steven Miller is white supremacist scum and should be tried for crimes against humanity.
He doesn’t believe in due process for anyone else, why should he get the same benefit? Stephen Miller murdered a child, and should be summarily deported from life. He didn’t use due process to murder the child, so he shouldn’t get due process to avoid the death penalty. No trial, just a hangin’.
Once you surrender your humanity it’s very difficult to get it back. Behaving like they do, you’ll become just as awful as they are. I’m not one to believe in the Democrats playing fair while the Republicans do whatever the fuck they want. I certainly think the Democrats, or any liberals that are in Congress, need to step up and use the rules that exist just as strongly as the Republicans have. But if we start ignoring the rule of law the way they are it no longer becomes relevant and we live not in a democracy but in a state of anarchic totalitarianism.
