I’m 48 and my wife is 10 years younger. We have been together for 10 years. We are happy together and have enough in common to really enjoy each other’s company. We also have enough not in common to be able to give each other space. Milage varies for everyone, for sure, but at least in our case the age difference has meant nothing.

Men have an unlimited supply of baby making material but women can only do 1 baby per 9 months (and even then depending what year you’re in (say 100,000 years ago up until 200 years ago) the quality of healthcare wasn’t great and child mortality was high) so men prioritise women who are healthier and younger in order to prioritise the chances of a young healthy baby being born and the mother living.
