Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called out one-time ally Donald Trump for abandoning the core promises behind his “Make America Great Again” movement.

“MAGA is, I think people are realizing, it was all a lie,” she told YouTube host Kim Iversen. “It was a big lie for the people.”

The Trump administration, she said, is all about serving “big, big donors,” including foreign countries and large corporations, with many funneling cash to Trump’s PACs and pet projects such as his White House ballroom to win favor.

My coworker follows her and Candace Owens. Coworker used to preach Doge and MAGA. Doesn’t so much anymore.

Granted, coworker still doesn’t vaccinate her kid. But better is good.

    Happy MTG isn’t maga anymore.

“People watching Fox News, every day, 24/7 with their volume turned all the way up in their living room and it’s so loud that you can’t hear anything else? Those are the baby boomers and God bless them, those are my parents’ generation. I love so many of the baby boomers, but they are the most brainwashed generation because they eat that crap, like, they just eat it up all day long. They’re spoon-fed the propaganda on TV.”

Damn, MTG over here spitting facts. She did lean into that propaganda hard, so can’t really give get a pass. But still good to see her speaking some truth.

It’s like when your brother finally gives up drugs. You don’t forgive or forget all the terrible stuff that they’ve done, but you welcome the person you knew before the drugs back. At least what’s left of them. MTG doesn’t deserve forgiveness but she deserves respect for admitting that she was wrong and walked back. It wasn’t her idea to do any of this and I’m sure if things went differently she’d still be by his side but an ally is better than an enemy.

No, but I’d still rather she be peddling the truth now than never. She doesn’t get a pass and I don’t forgive her, but I welcome anyone who wants to stop preaching bullshit, no matter how heinous the shit they used to say was.

If she actually regretted any of it, she could’ve retained her seat and voted against MAGA.

Methinks this is much about attention as anything she did that was pro-MAGA.

It’s all to move for another seat. She’s politically savvy. She’ll run for Gov or president or to be a VP pick. Building distance from today’s MAGA is just a calculated move to make her look more moderate.

Fuck you people and your low standards for making this person your ally simply because she is saying things now (that she probably doesn’t even believe in) you like. Go ahead, stand with MTG.

Ally? That suggests both a specific intention and a longevity I can’t imagine she’s capable of.

I know I’m not. She’s no Bernie Sanders, lol.

She’s also still a racist, as per her regime-friendly reaction to Don Lemon’s arrest. I find that intolerable.

What do you mean campaigning with the Cheneys was a terrible idea?

Think about the handful of conservative votes we theoretically could’ve flipped by doing that!

I hope she gets hot coals shoved up her ass when she dies and goes to hell. The video she filmed, before she was in Congress, yelling at David Hogg and the other highschool victims when they were going to testify in front of Congress is unforgivable. I don’t care how many mea culpas she does, she is a broken person that deserves every bit of hate she gets.

Yeah, no shit. Welcome to the party, Marj.

The Republicans/conservatives hate this country and want to destroy everything about it that actually was built toward meeting any ideals, strip it for parts, and funnel all the money to the already rich. Appealing to the racists and xtian zealots only helps them meet this goal, even if only some of the elites may actually be xtian/racist.

And “maga” == conservatives == Republicans.

@MicroWave Let’s not forget WHO Marjorie Taylor Green really is! She’s sick and divisive and has no respect for America. A turd doesn’t smell better just because it’s flushed!

almost as if she mostly cares about that. as do most of the politicians and pundits…

@TubularTittyFrog The real tell is that there are 12,000 registered Lobbyists in DC. Their reporting reveals that in 2023 they distributed over $4Billion dollars to members of Congress from their special interest groups.

Statistically when they leave Congress, they become Lobbyists and make in excess of 6 times what they made from the people!

None of them are there to serve their constituents! Giving money directly to a Congressperson is “BRIBERY” but our Supreme Court says that giving it to a lobbyist and he gives it to a Congressperson is …

FREE SPEECH and protected by the 1st Amendment! — crooked bastards, all of them!

people behave according to incentives that reward certain behaviors, and punish others.

i used to work in policy. good policy gets you voted out of office, and makes everyone hate you. You don’t get rich from pursuing a broad-based policy that improves the lives of your constituents. a lot of people i met… were smart and open about this. there was no reason to be a ‘good’ politician because nobody pays you for it, and the voters tend to vote you out for it.

there are some cases where that isn’t true, of course. but usually limited to smaller districts/states with more homogeneous populations

She’s 100% going to try to launch some kind of personal “revival” conservative party like the Tea Party did way back when.

I hope she is very open about it and just calls it the “Trash Party” and instead of a donkey or elephant, their logo is an overweight American on a mobility scooter
