“The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says it has been inundated with over 200 calls from members of the U.S. military regarding religious comments made by U.S. commanders about the war in Iran. One combat unit commander reportedly said that the war is “part of God’s divine plan” and that “President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.””
Looks like someone are delusional. No wonder we have so many gun shootings.
i don’t have the willpower to find it, but i recall a video with a republican US representative from oregon. He is Mormon. He was meeting with the top leadership of the Mormon church in Utah. They were interviewing him and he said that he voted for the Iraq war (2003) because he thought it would be an opportunity for mormon missionaries to enter the country and convert people to mormonism.
Now I’m not saying the current war in Iran is mormons, i’m just saying that this mindset (start a war so we can try to convert them to our religion while the smoke clears) is prevalent in a specific wing of the US government.
people are gonna point to this 150 years from now and say “the second millennium sect of Christians could have been a death cult.” it will be hard to argue against.
Seems like every Abrahamic religion is a death cult. Always has been, always will be.
Just what the servant of the anti christ would say about their dark lord.
Time to post this article again
Negatory, if Jesus had returned to Earth he’d be flipping over the resolute desk and chasing – sorry, anointing – Trump with a whip.
These people should not have access to nuclear armaments…
The people who believe this shouldn’t have access to scissors…
So fracture their arms if they want to speak?
Iran is evil because it’s a theocracy!!
A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer. From Saturday morning through Monday night, more than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF). The complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations, the MRFF told me Monday night.
Gog and Magog all over again I guess. How many times is it now? At least twice, you think Christians would realize they’ve seen this one before.
Hegseth has been working overtime to normalize it, recruitment videos pairing the Lord’s Prayer with fighter jets. christian nationalism has always been part of the military but it’s a prereq now.Mikey Weinstein from MRFF puts it bluntly: “Hegseth makes it clear, ‘Here’s the template that we want.’ That fully encourages one of those Christian nationalists, commanders and members of the chain of command—whether they believe it or not. They know it’s a way to get ahead, to try to rationalize [the mission]”
So when a commander stands in front of troops and says Trump is “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran,” they’re not operating in a vacuum. They’ve watched their Secretary of War do exactly that for months without consequence.
That said, well over 200 complaints across 50+ installations show it’s not isolated to a few weirdos. Hegseth’s project has given them permission to say the quiet part out loud.

The complainants themselves are mostly Christians. They’re not objecting to faith in the military. They’re objecting to commanders using their rank to push specific apocalyptic theology.
Some of these commanders are genuine believers, Some are opportunists but at this point it’s a distinction without a difference, because the result is the same either way: troops being told it’s prophecy.
Considering most of the complaints are from formal briefings, it’s at least rampant in the command structure. Best case? We’re looking at years of investigations, reassignments, and quietly shuffling people out.
The only silver lining is Keg Breath is so uncharismatic that most of the top brass hate him specifically. If any top brass who probably stuck it out for a lot of time, tedium, and bureaucratic BS and probably even worked pretty hard (to finagle some near-impossible tasks without getting caught bending/breaking policy) to become top-top brass actually felt anything but deep resentment and probably hate for this sleazy failed ANG major (a middling paygrade, for those unfamiliar), I would be shocked. Can’t imagine there’s any general or admiral ever enjoying taking orders from a major.
The US is starting a fucking holy war now. Didn’t have that in my bingo card for this year.
It’s not their first
“Separation of church and state”
Add that to list of things that’s never been true but used for a show of moral and political superiority by the yankistanis.
Can we just skip to the part where we put trumps rotting corpse onto the golden throne and have the military worship that ?
At least then I won’t have to listen to him speak anymore.
Unfit to command.
The official rationale coming from the administration is no more coherent than this.
I keep seeing this story in many places except for mainstream media. When will the AP pick this one up or is it still being developed?
I thought it was Bubba, not Jesus?
