They sold for the equivalent of $2
Did they have raktajino mugs?
They’re sailing mugs! I think the one’s used in DS9 are still manufactured
A replica of the Bodum Tea cup is now being sold for $64 for a set of 4:
https://www.masterreplicas.com/en-us/products/the-picard-tea-cup-set-1$2 each is amazing!
About 2 years ago I found a set of 4 originals plus a tea pot and matching cream/sugar cups on Ebay for half of that…
Whoa! I hope you snagged that!
I did! I looked on ebay just now out of curiosity, and saw a few which were less than that replica set. It’s Bodum’s “Bistro” tea/espresso cups, for anyone who wants to look!
It is an elegant design
Hopefully it’s pyrex/borosilicate(??) too
The future is now!
I love this for you.
I was gifted the collector set, and I feel guilty because I don’t use them. They’re cute and small, and I need more tea than that. But to get them for a couple bucks is awesome. You could probably even get someone to 3d-print appropriate coloured handles for you.
I just realised we had a very similar style of tea cups in my home in the '90s, early '00s, my parents probably still have them.
Amazing
Makes sense that he’d use an antique.
I don’t think it was at the time
Those are just basic tea glasses… Why is everybody so stunned by this? My grandma drinks her tea out of some similar glasses.
Maybe your grandmother broke the temporal prone directive.
Temper, temper!
My grandma is temporally prone, but I doubt she knows how to even spell “temporal”.
Next time you’re there, could you check to see if they have any hand phasers for me?
We have a bit of a mosquito problem in the summers ‘round here…
You’d think he’d have brought some china with him if he’s such an earl grey connoisseur.
Glass is non-reactive and doesn’t retain or alter the flavor of the tea. My snobbiest tea vessel is almost identical to these, actually, just without the handle. https://fellowproducts.com/products/stagg-tasting-glasses-pair
wait, i can get all snobby as fuck with my mason jars, not just hipstery? awwwww yisss
Well that’s what the china’s for, innit? There are scientists dedicated to figuring out which materials best complement foods and drinks.
China/glazed ceramic is ok, but it wears over time and then begins to retain some material as the glaze wears out. Glass is sorta just better. A double-walled vacuum insulated glass with a thin, wide brim is pretty much ideal for taste, smell, and temperature.
Got a link to a favorite, especially large tumbler size?
Hope you scooped them up, those are cool
Wow, you could probably make a fortune by reselling them to Star-Trek fans for thrice the price!
For $6 I don’t feel it’s worth it but I feel like I should have bought a few!
As a Picard-fan and Earl Grey connoisseur I would totally buy it for that price!
Would be willing to spend even more for a Raktajino cup like from DS9…Save a few bucks and opt for a can coozy, instead 🖖🏽
Those are collectible
Anything can be collectible and I am too gullible to fall for most of them 🤦
Yeah but these are. Broke my sugar candy for the set and they wanted $100 for 1
