It’s interesting how words change. These kinds of camps have always been bad, but the term “concentration camp” was initially chosen to make it seem benign. The idea was that it’s not a prison camp, it’s not a detainment camp, they’re merely “concentrating” people there. Then, in WWII, the term became associated with Nazi death camps.
What’s different this time around is that although the government doesn’t want people to think “death camp”, they’re gleefully promoting the idea that they will be incredibly unpleasant. Torture maybe, but not death.
But, in truth, death is likely. Cramped living conditions in a swamp in the summer in Florida? People are going to die.
Actual PoW camps were much, much more pleasant. They had to abide by the Geneva Conventions.

There are still things you can do that will drastically help.
- find local communities and get involved to make connections, this is essential, as resisting alone without a community makes you much less effective, and easier to suppress. Any real resistance requires community.
- We can effect things drastically with a general strike. This targets the establishment’s income streams, and can bring a fascist government to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
- Contact a union and attempt to unionize your workplace so that the general strike is even more effective (plus, ya know, better pay and working conditions as a bonus!)
This method would not only work in the US, but anywhere in the world.

- Continuing to participate in publicly visible resistance demonstrations like 50501 (the next one is July 17th) to encourage others to stand up with you and prove to that there are millions of others who will join them in the fight. A large part of Nazi Germany’s success in taking over the country was a lack of massive public demonstrations against the new regime, making people feel helpless and afraid to take a stand.
If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Look at how effective these methods were when used in Chile in 2019.. If we completely reject the political system and rebel on a mass scale, there is NOTHING they can do to stop us.
At some point people are going to start having to risk their comfortable lives to resist

Being trapped by a job does not sound like a life of comfort. Leaving my job would mean being flat broke in two weeks and then starving. If you work paycheck to paycheck, you literally cannot afford to risk your lifestyle to resist.
It’s possible to organize with people that have the means to help those dedicated to the cause, you don’t have to just give up everything and be alone.
I would love to have access to such an organization. Unfortunately, they don’t advertise, if they exist, and I’m too poor to found one.
