No he isn’t, he isn’t declaring war with mexico, that would be REALLY, REALLY stupid.

This is one of his horrible attempts at negotiating with Mexico, but it just comes across as insanity.

The US hasn’t “technically” been at war since WW2. We weren’t “at war” during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War…

Only open war we’ve had since I can remember is the war on drugs and homelessness. Shows you were our priorities lie considering we haven’t done shit to address either.

He clearly violated the letter and spirit of the law with the attack on Panama. According to historians. The prevailing analysis I’ve heard is that both parties didn’t want to impeach him because the fallout from Nixon was considered too big a national problem to revisit.

Technically and laws don’t apply to this administration, if he were to declare war the Republicans would just predate a declaration of war and say it’s legal.

Yes, but that was BEFORE he soft-launched martial law against cities that vote against him. Deploying troops is a huge escalation over threats and emboldens his administration while desensitizing us to his horrors.

The last I heard, we’ve now murdered 10 boatsful of Venezuelans. I don’t even know if that number is accurate because I’ve been too busy to really catch up on all of our current atrocities. The last I’d heard before that number was 3.

The point is, we’re getting to the point that we’d shrug at following through on a foreign invasion. What I’m saying is that while we’re now watching our fearless leader make good on bad promises, let’s keep a Mexican invasion categorized under TACOs. If we start threatening to force our way north, then you’ll get to see how much worse my French is than my Spanish.

You could take a look at the article you’re commenting on in order to catch up: “If authorized, the planned missions would represent a significant escalation in Trump’s ongoing series of attacks against he has claimed to be drug cartel operations, which include at least 15 strikes against alleged drug smuggling boats in the Caribbean and western Pacific Ocean.”

Up to 15 strikes it looks like.

From my perspective, no need to apologize. You called me out where I deserved to be called out. You did not attack me personally and provided context. I seriously thought you were offering a stern and sincere response, which I totally respect.

That being said, I’m sorry that you were in a shitty mood. These are very stressful times and it’s easy to accidentally snap at your neighbor. Remember that the most valuable resource you can offer is yourself, which is why it’s important to take care of yourself. If you ever need to vent and just feel the acknowledgement of another human, feel free to send a message.

Yeah, this is great. We’re going to (illegally) invade Mexico ane Venezuela simultaneously, while also occupying our own cities that don’t go along the paramilitary immigration Gestapo. Oh, and we’re also waging chaotic, impulsive trade wars with literally every country on Earth. Maybe we can get a ground war going in Russia as well, really speed run the imperial collapse.

Call his bluff. He just wants to wag his dick around. So mexico should mobilize their army at the border and say “cross this line and you are declaring war.”

Guaranteed someone up high makes him understand how politically stupid that would be. Probably in pictures. With small words.
