From what I understand, the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are completely separate organisations in the US, and also quite different in their outlook, with the Girl Scouts being very inclusive and somewhat progressive, while the Boy Scouts are a bastion of male chauvinism, patriarchal values, intimidation and sexual abuse.
A couple of years ago, the Boy Scouts tried to change that, and apparently that’s really upsetting to Hegseth.
The Boy Scouts made the decision in 2017 to start admitting girls and in 2018 started carrying that out. I think their split with Mormons really hurt membership and this was a way to increase membership.
As others have said - long before that, it was often the case that siblings and mothers (as leaders) were involved in troop activities anyway.
And yes, this story has nothing to do with Girl Scouts because as you say, they are an entirely different org.
It’s the organization formerly called the “Boy Scouts”. The Girl Scouts is a wholely independent organization that doesn’t, to my knowledge, receive money from the government to operate, hence Girl Scout cookies as a revenue source to fund activities.
I’m sure if Pedonald’s goons find some way to punish Girl Scouts, they will surely pursue it.
But yeah, holding funds over Scouts is something they hope to lord over the Scouts, and all so they can make girls in Scouts cry, I guess? I mean that’s the likely outcome here if the Scouts cave to these fucking demons.
I’m pretty sure the Scouts organization is going to tell him to eat grass because despite that government funding a few years ago they were going into bankruptcy. That is until they stopped being the “Boy” Scouts and opened up their membership.

Eagle Scouts get advanced rank after basic/boot. That translates into pay. Kicking girls out of the BSA is basically denying them a valuable head-start.

OK, and when was the last time scouts were called up to duty? I don’t remember the scouts being out there in Afghanistan. And that’s Eagle Scout, not Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts, and most Eagle Scouts don’t even attend military. So be that as it may, what it is and what it actually is are two different things they want to take funding because they’re afraid of vaginas and the Boy Scouts or scouting in general. Hegseth, like many of his ilk, is afraid of vaginas. They’re also afraid of people, removing their penises and making them vaginas.

Also, even if he was, how having girls in the Scouts affects him, personally, is a real mystery.
I was in scouts. People brought their sisters to meetings all the time. They joined in whatever we were doing and it was fine. I also went on a couple girl scout trips. I don’t even remember how that happened but we had a fun time. Most of the girls I met as a kid and remained friends with through my teens I met through scouts. Good experiences all around.
